Fashion Model Says Beaterator’s Coming to iPhone

here’s a video trailers of a games on PSP Go

We break rumor without prejudice to the source, and this one comes from Vogue. Model Jacquetta Wheeler is friends with Sam Houser’s wife, Anouchka, and during a visit, she says Sam showed Beaterator to her – on an iPhone.

Now, we already know that Beaterator, produced with Timbaland, is on the way to the PSP next month. Nobody said anything about iPhone, though. And don’t ask me why I’m reading a friggin’ Vogue fashion model blog, OK? But Wheeler seems awful certain that’s the game and that’s the platform on which she saw it. Verbatim, here’s what she wrote back on Aug. 12:

There are now 3.0.1 firmware links for the iPhone 3G & 3GS in the left sidebar. Also the links for the iPod Touch 1st & 2nd Gen were broken and are now fixed (Thanks Patrick for emailing us about the bug).

A side note: The cydia repo is still in progress. I’m currently trying to learn my way around linux (OS needed to create it). Hang in there!

Wiki: The End, New Writers, and The Best $5 You’ll Spend All Year

So I dropped the ball on that Wikipedia App comparison. Two things happened simultaneously which lead me to just forget the whole idea. First, I realized every single Wiki App out there sucks. They’re all slow, quirky, or shallow. Second, visiting Wikipedia results from a Google search in mobile Safari started automatically pushing me to the mobile Wikipedia site. Perfect! The mobile Wiki site is fast, familiar, and easy to navigate. I really don’t see why you’d bother with a seperate app, especially since many of them cost money!

Among other changes around here, we’re going to be hearing from a friend and former colleague of mine, Pete Buletza. Pete is developing iPhone apps now, and spends a ton of time annoying me with iPhone app recommendations. I assure you he knows what he’s talking about. In fact, a few of the comments on here have been by him (NullPtr). So there’s that. I’m not sure what his timeframe is exactly but you should be seeing a post from him here within the next few days.

Now that the clerical stuff is out of the way, I’d like to tell you how to spend the last $5 in your wallet. Civilization: Revolution is simply the best iPhone port of a full game I’ve ever seen. I’ve been playing it for a few days now, and most of the time I honestly can’t tell the difference between Civ on the iPhone and on my Xbox 360. Despite long initial load times, the game plays quickly and smoothly. It’s easy to just pull it out of your pocket, play a few turns, and go on about your day. Once I’ve spent a little more time with it, I’ll write up a full review with screenshots and all. But trust me, just go ahead and buy it now, and find out for yourself.

Vampires Live from the iPhone AppStore is currently number 23 on the AppStore free applications list.

A on-line game where you assume the role of a vampire, build your clan and gain experience.

Version tested: 1.5 (current as of writing)

Firstly I would like to say, “Immediately delete & report this application to Apple, then remove & delete all applications by Storm8 LLC.”

Now that is out of the way, lets continue. This application has so many privacy issues and violations that I have already reported it to Apple and will create a permanent “Hall of Shame”.

During use, the application tracks and reports:
- your mobile phone number (yes, you read that right)
- application version, number
- unique ID of your iPhone
- points (if applicable)
- iPhone model
- firmware versio

Not only does this occur once, but multiple times (half a dozen) during the course of utilising this application.
